There are truly so many things that I love about photography. I love meeting new people, I love capturing beauty, or sadness or love. But what do I love the most? I love capturing the true personality of someone. I may do it often with people I don't know, but with friends, I know it the moment I take the shot . . . "Oh, that is SO her/him!" This is the afternoon with some family friends with whom we go way back. So, as I was editing this pictures, I noticed a smile subtly growing on may face as I thought about how precious they all are and how I captured THEM. It almost brings tears to my face . . . almost ;)

As much as a first-time-mom really has no comprehension how her life will change with her upcoming arrival, an only child, REALLY has no idea! However, it is such a wonderful thing to watch how children change when they transition from only child to older sibling. This little girl is so precious and is going to be a fantastic older sister. And if her new little sister is even half as cute as this little precious on, watch out!

This mommy is just absolutely adorable. We had such a great morning together and for someone who does not like to get her picture taken, she should, for she is gorgeous! She is one of those beautiful pregnant ladies who does not even look pregnant from the back. This family is just amazing. And her husband is getting to deploy. What an amazing sacrifice our military makes to protect and serve this wonderful country of ours. This is just a sneak peak . . . there are more to come!

It is Pink Week over at i {heart} faces . . . go check out more pink picts over there! Just to let you know, being the youngest of the family and have two older brothers, our Little Rae of Sunshine thinks that pink is HER color. Too cute :)

This little face and the many other young faces like hers is one of the many reasons why women everywhere need to remember to get checked regularly with exams and mammograms not only to be around to help these young ladies mature, but to set good examples for them so that they me be able to live long and healthy lives.

Seriously, what is more exciting to little kids than a birthday? Our kids talk about them all year long: what kind of theme they want for their party, the gifts, the friends, the cakes the balloons, everything. Birthdays are just fun? So, when our daughter turned four, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself. Here she is waiting to open her presents, VERY EXCITING! You can see her gripping her overflowing pettiskirt in anticipation. Theses are the moments to remember. I'm so happy that was fortunate enough to capture this one!

Curious, at which birthday do we lose this excitement? Is it the first birthday after we had a birthday where we were let down? Is it a certain age? Does it slowly diminish as our loss of "innocence" increases? Secretly, I still get excited about my birthday (although often I feel as though I might be the only one). Every year might now bring with it a new set of wrinkles, but those wrinkles come with moments like the picture above and moments that have helped me grow in the the "adult" I am now and will help me get to the places I have yet to travel and the person I have yet to become. Age doesn't bother me, I still love birthdays. One of my friends and I joke that when we're 80, we can just throw our feet up, pop our teeth out and laugh about the whole thing! I hope that I do . . . and that I'm still around to do so, what a blessing.

One of the things I love about photography is getting to spend time with other families, to see each person in the family as both an individual and yet part of something so much bigger than him/herself. Spending a cool and wet Sunday morning with them was a pleasure and I'd do it all over again! We were very blessed in the sense that the rain held off just long enough to capture a few shots.

This is the first day of our littlest guy's kindergarten. He had a lot of emotions going on this day so a smile wasn't very free-flowing. But, he enjoys school and is doing well. POTD (Picture of the Day)

I have a beautiful friend who is having a Picture of the Day on her BLOG. There are no winners, it is just for people who love photography (or trying to love it again) to post a favorite picture of the day. Well, here are mine. I went into the bathroom and noticed the sink "glowing". I thought that, perhaps, one of the kids dropped one of our emergency flash lights in there. But, when I peeked my head over, I noticed, no such flash light. It was only then that I noticed the late afternoon light that was coming through the foyer window was peeking over the door and landing directly into the sink and the light was bouncing all over the porcelain and making it glow. It was so pretty. Anyway, all of the pictures are SOOC. I even took one of myself to show you how dark the room was, yet this sink was lit up, that is the type of person I aspire to be (by God's grace), reflecting His light into darkness.

Mother/Daughter

I had so much fun with this mother/daughter pair, they are so sweet together and and truly enjoy one another. I am delighted to have been a part of their morning. We had plans to shoot at an old mansion, but our plans were changed due a different event that was scheduled there. But, as we were walking around the mansion grounds, we found a little path that led to a little bridge and a lot of fun taking a lot of pictures.

The Missing Triplet!

A few weeks ago, I got to take pictures of two little girls who are identical twins. However, they also have a brother who make them all triplets. Here is the boy who was MIA last time. He is quite handsome and I hope that their momma is happy with the results. Yes, just for the record, getting three three-year-olds to all look right at me at once, is not an easy task and I have A LOT of room for improvement. But, with cute little faces, it does make it a little easier for me to do my job.

You Capture - Nature

I love hydrangeas! To me, they are like big pillows of lusciousness! If I could, I would just scoop them up and hug them! I have planted hydrangea bushes in the yard of every house we have had (except one that we were only in for 8 months and not during planting season). Unfortunately, we have moved so frequently that I have never had the opportunity to see the bushes mature and overflow with these glorious blooms. I planted these bushes three springs ago and am so excited because each bush has about six - ten blooms each! Some of the blooms are still little, but some are just exploding with clusters. I snapped these this morning right after a thunderstorm came through. When we got these they were white, but you can see that blue is now beginning to peek through in their color.

I hope that you have a great day and treasure the gifts God has given us that are all around in nature just waiting to be opened and discovered.

SO, for ME, my current vocation is actually a vacation! I love it an wouldn't change it for the world. The pictures from this one morning is one reason why. So, without any further ado (please forgive the quality of them as well as they are all SOOC). . . .

This is a TRUE story of Bear Bunny, none of this is stages; what you are about to see is real-life in action. Yes, we are well aware that technically this animal is a bunny bear, BUT, try telling that to a three-year-old. So, his name is Bear Bunny. Sunshine LOVES her bear bunny. She had a little bengal tiger who was her little lovey, but he has been missing for many weeks (we are still offering this up to our Lord in prayer knowing that He will provide, if she really, truly NEEDS it). So now her little bear bunny has become her little buddy and she has been taking everywhere. AND, she is certain to not loose him. Here is a little pictorial of an afternoon they recently shared together.

"Hey, Mom, check out Bear Bunny and me; he's SO CUTE!"

"OOPS!"

"Oh, no, Bear Bunny, I'll save you!"

"No, don't go anywhere, I'll keep my eyes on you!"

"Really, I will!"

"Well, I do have to look where I'm going, so maybe I'll take them off of you for just a minute."

"Hey, Mom, check us out," (again).

"Oh, Bear Bunny, I LOVE you!"

"You are my buddy and I just love being with you."

"Everywhere I go! So, HOLD ON!"

"Let's go out on the open road together."

"Ooops!" (do you see that little speck in the middle of the street to the right of the car?)

Even Socrates is thinking this is becoming quite ridiculous.

"Whoosh, that was close, saved you again," with an assist from Socrates.

Socrates is just riding along minding his own business.

Check out his rad moves (with no training wheels!)

"Oh, Bear Bunny, I'll save you!"

"Here I come!"

"Here I am!"

"Are you okay?"

"I love you . . . .

. . . . so much!"

"I'm not going to let you fall again, even if I have to hold on with my teeth!"

But she did drop him.

This is when Socrates steps in again with the assist and HE'S not going to let him get away.

But, he does.

So, who ends up with Bear Bunny and really takes care of him? Yes, Mom! Bear Bunny needs to stay inside. At least they both realized that Bear Bunny needed a little more protecting outside then they could provide. . . . recognizing limitations is a good thing; for some of us, it just takes a little longer.
