Sunday Afternoon in the Park

Lots of photos to precede :) I was able to spend last Sunday afternoon with a wonder extended family. I enjoyed getting to know them all better and wait until you see these smiling little (and big) faces. Enjoy!

Isn't She Just the Cutest Little Thing?

As much as a first-time-mom really has no comprehension how her life will change with her upcoming arrival, an only child, REALLY has no idea! However, it is such a wonderful thing to watch how children change when they transition from only child to older sibling. This little girl is so precious and is going to be a fantastic older sister. And if her new little sister is even half as cute as this little precious on, watch out!

Mama Mia!

This mommy is just absolutely adorable. We had such a great morning together and for someone who does not like to get her picture taken, she should, for she is gorgeous! She is one of those beautiful pregnant ladies who does not even look pregnant from the back. This family is just amazing. And her husband is getting to deploy. What an amazing sacrifice our military makes to protect and serve this wonderful country of ours. This is just a sneak peak . . . there are more to come!

i {heart} faces . . . Pink Week

It is Pink Week over at i {heart} faces . . . go check out more pink picts over there! Just to let you know, being the youngest of the family and have two older brothers, our Little Rae of Sunshine thinks that pink is HER color. Too cute :)

This little face and the many other young faces like hers is one of the many reasons why women everywhere need to remember to get checked regularly with exams and mammograms not only to be around to help these young ladies mature, but to set good examples for them so that they me be able to live long and healthy lives.

i {heart} faces . . . excited

Seriously, what is more exciting to little kids than a birthday? Our kids talk about them all year long: what kind of theme they want for their party, the gifts, the friends, the cakes the balloons, everything. Birthdays are just fun? So, when our daughter turned four, she was so excited she could hardly contain herself. Here she is waiting to open her presents, VERY EXCITING! You can see her gripping her overflowing pettiskirt in anticipation. Theses are the moments to remember. I'm so happy that was fortunate enough to capture this one!

Curious, at which birthday do we lose this excitement? Is it the first birthday after we had a birthday where we were let down? Is it a certain age? Does it slowly diminish as our loss of "innocence" increases? Secretly, I still get excited about my birthday (although often I feel as though I might be the only one). Every year might now bring with it a new set of wrinkles, but those wrinkles come with moments like the picture above and moments that have helped me grow in the the "adult" I am now and will help me get to the places I have yet to travel and the person I have yet to become. Age doesn't bother me, I still love birthdays. One of my friends and I joke that when we're 80, we can just throw our feet up, pop our teeth out and laugh about the whole thing! I hope that I do . . . and that I'm still around to do so, what a blessing.

Lovely Family

One of the things I love about photography is getting to spend time with other families, to see each person in the family as both an individual and yet part of something so much bigger than him/herself. Spending a cool and wet Sunday morning with them was a pleasure and I'd do it all over again! We were very blessed in the sense that the rain held off just long enough to capture a few shots.
